Marco Lutzu was born in Tempio, in Gallura. He is a researcher in ethnomusicology at the University of Cagliari and has conducted studies and research in Sardinia and Cuba, investigating the relationship between music and the sacred, improvised poetry and performance analysis. He is the scientific director of the Enciclopedia della Musica Sarda (ed. L’ Unione Sarda) and author of numerous publications, including Non potho reposare, il canto d’amore della Sardegna (ed. Nota).
Luca Nulchis was born in Urzulei in Ogliastra. He is a composer, pianist and singer and completed his piano studies at Cagliari’s Music Conservatory. He is involved in studies and research on traditional music focusing mainly on Sardinian music. He is also a teacher. He founded the quartet Andhira and has published two records with ALA BIANCA editions.
Sandro Fresi was born in Tempio in Gallura. He is a multi-instrumentalist and composer and an independent researcher on ethnic studies. He has released albums (Iskeliu, Elmusura, with prefaces by Fabrizio De André and Paolo Fresu), and has worked on the imaginative narrative in the scattered habitat of Gallura (Speradifoli), on the rural village of Anglona (Folas de Anglona) and the Garibaldi canta Caprera collection.
Claudio Gabriel Sanna was born in Alghero, in Nurra. Singer-songwriter and researcher, his work is devoted to folk music and to research and he has recovered ancient ballads, texts and Catalan folk songs from Alghero. He founded the musical group “Càlic” and has composed stage music for theatre plays and dance projects. He has published albums and participated in festivals throughout Europe. His works are included in various international collections of world music.
Gianluca Dessì was born in Sassari, in Nurra. Musician, cultural operator and ethnomusicologist, he is a member of the historic group Cordas et Cannas and founder of the Elva Lutza duo, winner of the Parodi Prize in 2011, with whom he has given concerts, recorded three discs and toured throughout Europe. He collaborates with the Provençal cantor Renat Sette and the Catalan singer and actress Ester Formosa. He has made numerous study trips to Bulgaria, Serbia and Macedonia.
Gianni Menicucci was born in Berchidda in Gallura. He is a record producer, sound engineer and musician. He founded the label TÀJRÀ EDIZIONI E PRODUZIONI with which he has published several records and collections. He works as a cultural events promoter and devised the METECA Project.
